We were asked by a valued customer of ours within the Oil and Gas Industry to replace an old and faulty Siemens TD200 HMI, which was communicating with a S7-200 over PPI.
Unfortunately, there was no backup from the old HMI and no documentation on the PLC.
We reverse engineered the HMI, added comments and notes to the PLC and finally designed, installed and configured a CP243-1 ethernet communication module. Photos below show finished project with customers name blanked out for confidentiality.
The new Weintek HMI now is communicating over ethernet, has more information/diagnostics, more settings and better graphics.
With the right preparation and FAT testing the commissioning and down time was less than 2 hours!
